PPOC pioneered biomass energy in Canada in conjunction
with customers in the pulp, paper and lumber industries. It was particularly
key in developing the role of the independent power producer in Canada's
emerging deregulated markets.
PPOC helped develop small but reliable, high capacity power plants - its strength the
development of contracts, project financing, management and commissioning,
plant operations and waste management systems.
PRIMARY
POWER MARKETING is an energy broker specializing in renewable
energy. It brings together producers of clean, affordable renewable
power with
conscientious consumers and businesses that understand the benefits
and affordability of renewable power.
Primary Power Marketing was founded
in 1998 as a subsidiary of Primary Power International at a time
when electric marketers and utilities
focused on cheaper coal and nuclear energy. Meanwhile, consumer and
commercial interests in renewable energy grew and many states answered
by requiring renewable portfolio standards and opening their regulated
markets to consumer choice.
Acceptance of biomass energy as a clean, affordable energy option has
boosted demand for alternative fuel. Now more than ever, fuel availability,
price and procurement have become the driving force in power plant
operations.
WOOD FIBER
Fuel is the most critical component of electrical generation. Primary
Power Fuels was established to secure the more than 1 million tons
of wood fuel used annually by Primary Power International facilities,
plus meet the needs of other power plants reliant on a steady supply
of waste wood for generation.
Primary Power Fuels is located in Flint, Michigan (810-732-1099) and
is staffed by specialists in the development of strategic alliance,
procurement and transportation logistics.
