As the company's top executive, Mr. Silverthorn
is responsible for establishing the corporate conscience and guiding
organizational strategies, which emphasize human relationships within
the company and all business partners.
A CPA, Mr. Silverthorn has developed, established
and operated a variety of businesses during his career, including
a chain of six franchise restaurants and a classic automobile business.
He has managed an asphalt company and maintained a private professional
practice as a CPA.
As Chief Operating Officer, Chris Pollard oversees
all facets of operations, including Primary Power's fuel procurement
and processing facilities. He plays a key role in developing fuel
supplies.
Mr. Pollard joined Primary Power as an owner and
member of the board of directors in 1983, bringing with him a strong
background in the waste management business. He became a vice-president
in the company in 1993 and a full-time employee in 1994. He has served
on the Board of Directors since that time.
Mr. Pollard grew up in a family-owned waste management
business and was involved in every facet of it. In 1982 he was made
corporate vice president and operations manager of Pollard Disposal,
Inc. He purchased a competing business in 1998 and a year later negotiated
the sale of that business to City Management Company, where he was
instrumental in its rapid growth, including the opening of a state-of-the-art
landfill. He became regional vice president in 1992 and was responsible
for 155 employees, 65 trucks, facilities, mergers and acquisitions,
contract negotiations, and licensing and permitting.
Those skills have been a valuable asset to Primary
Power, where Mr. Pollard has been involved in the development and
operation of Primary Power's over all fuel strategy, including the
development and operation of Mid-Michigan Recycling, Primary Fuels
and Crawford Forest Products.
